Good News

For those of you who know me and my desires, I’ve wanted to be a published writer all my life. I began by composing a poem for my grandfather when I was eight. And I’ve been writing ever since.

Well, it finally happened!  I sent a gift book proposal to a reputable Christian publisher and received word this week that they want the book.  It’s not a large book, just a simple gift book. Small, but with some nuggets of truth that I hope readers will find interesting and useful in improving their lives.

It will be quite some time before it actually hits the bookshelves. There is a long lag between contract and publication. But the promise is there. I’m going to be published in something more than a short magazine article or a stringer’s article for the local newspaper.

Am I pleased? You bet!!

Thanks, Shadia, for celebrating with me. I have no idea how soon this will be available. I was told that the 2011 cycle is mostly filled and it would probably be 2012 before it would be published. But that was by a different editor. I have no details from the gift book editor on what is wanted and when. It will probably show up here when I know more.
