Turkey and dressing and all the trimmings, topped off with pie – of various flavors – generously swirled with whipped cream seem to be the basic focus of this day.

In the larger context, however, we can think of many things for which we are truly grateful. My short list…

God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Life and love.

This good earth.

Vocations and avocations.

God’s eternal presence with us and the security of His everlasting love.

May you all have a blessed day.

Actually, we’re celebrating Thanksgiving with my children today. My middle daughter had to work Thursday, and the other two were with in-laws.

In reality, everyday should be Thanksgiving. It’s all about giving thanks to God for Who He is and what He has done for us.

I hope your celebration was a memorable, happy time.

You are absolutely right about being thankful each day. I make it a point to give thanks for everything in my life.

Here in Canada our Thanksgiving is in October and we had a wonderful time with two of our three children, my mum and a neighbour.
